About the position

Responsibilities

  • Provide total, comprehensive, continuous, and patient-centered care.
  • Assess, document, plan, implement, teach, develop, and evaluate a comprehensive nursing plan of care.
  • Deliver direct patient care and ensure patient satisfaction.
  • Train and delegate duties to other nursing team members.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures as well as federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Exercise independent judgment in patient care based on competence and professional expertise.
  • Participate in patient and staff education.
  • Demonstrate leadership skills and accountability for nursing practices.

Requirements

  • Valid California Registered Nurse License without restriction.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification (within 6 months of hire).
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC) certification (within 6 months of hire).
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
  • 6-36 months of recent acute care RN experience in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Knowledge of current trends in nursing and commitment to excellence in patient care.

Nice-to-haves

  • Preceptorship in Emergency Department.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
