Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Product Manager to lead the development and execution of product strategies for Home Depot's remote operations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in product management, with a focus on modern software development practices and agile methodologies. As a Product Manager, you will work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • System and Planning (40%):
    • Gaining a comprehensive understanding of client and stakeholder needs, both existing and potential, and utilizing that information to assist in delivering enterprise products that provide Home Depot clients and partners with an unparalleled shopping experience.
    • Deciphering business objectives and end-client needs into product strategy; conveying direction and product needs to the development team, other matrixed teams, and third-party partners.
    • Identifying objectives, metrics, and analysis to determine product value; consistently making suggestions and refinements to the product accumulation based on learnings.
    • Conducting end-client research to assist in identifying client stories and determining Minimum Viable Product (MVP).
    • Collaborating with Finance to understand financial necessities and aiding in the creation of business plans for new opportunities.
    • Monitoring research and the competitive landscape to suggest the best solutions and ensure that products remain or become top-tier.
    • Assessing research and market analysis on industry advancements and technology platforms to suggest the most ideal solution.
  • Delivery and Execution (30%):
    • Ensuring the product is aligned with company, partner, and end-client needs to drive sales, improve efficiency, and enhance customer satisfaction.
    • Documenting, reviewing, and guaranteeing that all quality and change control standards are met.
    • Forming, testing, and refining assumptions and hypotheses through client research and testing.
    • Creating, prioritizing, and accepting client stories; integrating them into release planning.
    • Making product decisions that drive value consistently.
    • Identifying pros, cons, issues, obstacles, conditions, and worth related to features and improvements.
    • Participating in standups, iteration planning meetings, product demos, and reviews.
    • Consolidating complex technical concepts into non-technical language for partners.
  • Individuals (30%):
    • Fostering cooperation with colleagues (Engineering, Client Experience Planners, etc.) to drive value and collectively identify and resolve obstacles.
    • Acting as an advocate for modern software development practices.
    • Advocating for the end-client and partner by empathizing with and understanding client needs and becoming the space expert.
    • Routinely working with the product team to continuously review progress, disseminate patterns learned, and understand subsequent steps.
    • Managing cross-functional team and partner expectations to execute on product strategy; providing education to requestors to determine prioritization based on tangible benefits and client experience.
    • Demonstrating active listening, working with meetings, and clearly communicating at all levels (Executive Administration Group, store partners, etc.) and in all configurations the product's long-term strategy which is used to focus on short-term activity.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience, preferably in product management.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where priorities shift constantly.
  • Proven experience with modern software development practices and agile methodologies, specifically the extreme programming (XP) principles of paired programming, test-driven development, and continuous deployment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Experience working as a Product Manager in a cutting-edge software development-based project environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise with modern software development product management practices and agile philosophies.
  • Experience leading client research and testing to see needs.
  • Experience identifying objectives, metrics, and analysis to gauge product value.
  • Experience conducting competitive analysis and research.
